This is a remake of sorts of Batman: Return of the Joker, the NES game released a year earlier. Like it’s 8-bit sibling, it’s based on the Batman comic series rather than any of the movies or TV series, and has Batman traveling to the Joker’s secret hideaway to stop him stealing precious metals from Gotham’s mines: metals that, conveniently, can be used to build explosives. This action platformer consists of seven stages, culminating in a final battle with the Joker on his aforementioned hideaway, an island called Ha-hacienda. Batman is armed with a wrist projector which can act like four different weapons: a batarang launcher, a crossbow, a sonic neutraliser, and a shield star launcher.
