Based on Universal’s short-lived animated series, Exosquad is based around a war in 2040 between the Terrans (humans) and Neosapiens, a gentically superior race who were created in labs to work in mines but, typically, decided to fight back. You play as Lt. JT Marsh, Sergeant Rita Torres and Wolf Bronksy, who conveniently happen to be three members of the Able Squad, an elite unit who specialize in piloting giant mechs called E-Frames. The game consits of three unique types of stage flying sections (where you gun down enemies from a third-person viewpoint similar to Sega’s Space Harrier), side-scrolling sections (where you shoot even more baddies) and one-on-one duels (which control more like a fighting game).
